The "ten independent oscillation circuits" is a structural claim attached to the Stromzeuger, the battery-excited magnet/coil/plate device built by the German inventor Hans Coler and described in the 1946 British Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee (BIOS) Final Report No. 1043. The claim holds that the apparatus was not a single resonant system but a stack of ten separate oscillatory circuits operating at different frequencies, whose combined action was supposed to produce the reported energy surplus. The concept is important less as an established mechanism than as the most specific technical assertion in an otherwise vague theoretical account — and as a claim that, according to the BIOS report, was never actually measured.
What the claim states
In the report's account of Coler's own explanation, the Stromzeuger is said to have contained ten independent oscillation circuits. Each was to oscillate at its own frequency, and the interaction of these ten oscillations — rather than any single resonance — was presented as the seat of the alleged energy multiplication. This sits alongside Coler's other theoretical fragments: that ferro-magnetism itself oscillates at roughly 180 kHz, that charges are "separated" and "magnetically polarized," and that the device draws on what he called Raumenergie (Space-Energy) ("space-energy").
The ten-circuit idea is the closest the source comes to a falsifiable design specification. If the apparatus really contained ten distinct oscillatory loops, their individual frequencies should be measurable, and the interaction between them should be characterizable. The BIOS report records neither.
Relationship to the anchor–field–directing triad
The ten circuits are not the same as the three inter-wound windings that the report describes elsewhere in the Stromzeuger — the anchor, field, and directing circuits. Those three are the functional winding groups of the machine; the ten oscillation circuits are a finer-grained claim about how many independent oscillatory paths existed within (or across) that winding structure. The source does not reconcile the two counts, and the BIOS investigators did not attempt to map one onto the other.
Why it matters to the case
The ten-circuit claim is one of the few places where Coler's theory could have been tested directly. A laboratory with a spectrum analyzer or a set of tuned detectors could, in principle, look for ten distinct oscillation frequencies in a working device. The 1943 Coler/Frohlich report appended to the BIOS document describes four experiments aimed at other sub-effects (including the claimed opening-versus-closing impulse energy difference), and those experiments largely failed to confirm what was claimed. The individual frequencies of the ten circuits were never measured, and the report leaves open whether the ten-circuit structure was a real feature of the hardware or a retrospective rationalization of an apparatus that only worked by "chance, or happy accident" — the phrase the report itself uses.
Limits of the evidence
- The claim comes from Coler's own account as recorded by the BIOS interrogators, not from independent instrumentation.
- No frequency table, no circuit diagram with ten labeled loops, and no measurement of inter-circuit coupling appears in the available report text.
- The 1943 Coler/Frohlich statement, appended to the report, concedes that starting the apparatus depended on a "happy accident," which is difficult to square with a device whose behavior was governed by ten well-defined oscillators.
- Later replication attempts (Turtur, Hathaway, forum experimenters) report small and ambiguous outputs and do not confirm a ten-circuit structure.
