"Raumenergie" (space-energy) is the name Hans Coler suggested for the alleged new energy source tapped by his devices. It appears in BIOS Final Report No. 1043 as Coler's own term, offered in place of a coherent theory.
Context in the source
Coler could give no coherent theory for the effect. He suggested that ferro-magnetism oscillates at roughly 180 kHz in the magnetic circuit, and that the device was drawing on "Raumenergie." Appendix I of the report describes a "separation of charges," "magnetically polarized" charges, and a flow of "space electrons" between "repelling spaces" and "attracting spaces" — an element the BIOS reporter explicitly could not follow.
Assessment in the source
The report states that the claimed energy source is "not explainable by existing scientific theories." "Raumenergie" is a label, not a mechanism, and the dossier supplies no measurement that would distinguish it from an unaccounted-for measurement error or an external energy source. Later writers in the dossier connect the idea to the zero-point-energy of the electromagnetic quantum vacuum, but that connection is made by those writers, not by the 1946 report.
