The anchor–field–directing circuit triad is the BIOS report's description of the three inter-wound, inter-coupled principal circuits of Hans Coler's apparatus: the anchor (Anker), the field (Feld) and the directing circuit (Steurkreis). The anchor is identified in the report as the presumed site of energy gain.
The report's mechanism picture
The report describes the cycle as follows: a battery impulse charges the plates; the plate discharge briefly interrupts the field-circuit battery current; this inductively interrupts or reverses the directing-circuit current; the directing circuit's collapsing field induces a recharging current in the anchor circuit; and the cycle repeats. An "additional quantity of energy" of unknown origin is claimed to be freed each cycle, raising the amplitude until the magnet cores saturate.
The large coil plate is the Plattenspule (plate spool); paired Flachspule (flat coils) are interwound in two groups acting as transformer primary and secondary. Thin permanent magnet rods threaded through the transformer coils pre-magnetize the cores.
Assessment in the source
The report invokes the Barkhausen Effect (as invoked in BIOS Report No. 1043) to give each process its impulse-like character and the necessary phase change, and lists this as an unsolved problem. The team's Experiment 4 found that the anchor tracts are not all one oscillating circuit; each plate–coil–plate group is an independent circuit — Ten Independent Oscillation Circuits — whose individual frequencies could not be measured. The required mutual resonance condition is therefore unverified.
