What this record is
This page documents the source archive index page for Lester J. Hendershot's fuelless motor (the third Hendershot page on the site). The captured body is a link list, not a full article: it names eight items — newspaper clippings from 1928 and a Popular Science Monthly piece — and links to their PDFs, but supplies no body text, captions, or claims from those items themselves.
Because the ingest pipeline forbids inventing document contents, this article records what can be established about the capture itself and maps it to the existing wiki material on the same subject. It is a provenance record, not a summary of a document.
What the page lists
The page is an index of Hendershot fuelless-motor material, with each entry linking to a PDF:
- Manfred Obagon, "Hendershot Generator" (PDF)
The page also cross-links to two earlier Hendershot pages on the same site (hendershot.htm and hendershot2.htm).
Relationship to the existing Hendershot material
The wiki already holds a Hendershot cluster derived from a different capture:
- Hendershot Fuelless Motor: The source archive Patent-Image Dossier — the earlier Hendershot fuelless-motor dossier
- Hendershot's Fuelless Motor: The 1928 Press Record, the Ring-Magnet Models and the Bounded Evidence — the inventor
- Hendershot Fuelless Motor — the device
- Fuelless Motor Claim — the underlying assertion that a motor can operate without conventional fuel input
- Patent as Evidence — the interpretive question of whether a patent drawing demonstrates function
- Hendershot's Fuelless Motor: Claims, Witnesses and the Hochstetter Counter-Demonstration — the claims-versus-evidence comparison
The source_url here points to hendershot3.htm, a page distinct from whatever page produced the earlier dossier. Two readings are possible and cannot be distinguished from the available evidence:
- A distinct page in the same series. the source archive often splits a subject across several pages (for example
hendershot.htm,hendershot2.htm,hendershot3.htm), each carrying a different set of scans or clippings. Under this reading, the capture would have extended the existing cluster with new material. - A re-capture of material already covered. Under this reading the item is a variant capture and should be merged into or cross-linked with the existing dossier rather than treated as new evidence.
The folder hint "dossier 23 — The fuelless motor" does not resolve the ambiguity: the numbering appears to be a collection-level label rather than a unique document identifier, since the wiki already contains a Hendershot fuelless-motor dossier.
What cannot be reported
The page supplies titles, dates, and publication names for the linked items, but no body text from those items. No claims, mechanisms, dimensions, patent numbers, test results, or quotations from the underlying articles can be attributed to this source; only the bibliographic entries above are established.
For the substantive treatment of the subject — the inventor, the device, the fuelless-motor claim and the evidence question — see the existing pages listed above. Those pages rest on their own captures, not on this one.
Limitations and unresolved questions
- Body text. The capture preserves the index entries and links but not the contents of the linked PDFs.
- Page identity. The page cross-links to
hendershot.htmandhendershot2.htm, indicating it is a distinct page in a series, though the extent of overlap with the earlier wiki dossier is not established here. - Linked material. The PDFs themselves are not included in this capture.
