"Battery desulfation by cycling" is the claim, reported in the source archive Bedini dossier, that repeated charge/discharge cycles through a Bedini device reduce sulfation in lead-acid cells and revive batteries that will no longer accept conventional charging.
Reported claims
Harlan Sanders reports that two "completely sulfated" garden-tractor batteries that would not accept conventional charging later produced up to 7 A for several minutes, and that batteries were "resurrected to a useful level," with improvement increasing with each charge/discharge cycle. He reports roughly $50 of parts recovering roughly $50 of batteries within 24 hours. His stated instrument is the West Mountain Radio Computerized Battery Analyzer (CBA).
The dossier's separate October 13, 2000 battery test reports 12 gel-cell batteries charged from one primary battery, stated as a "12 to 1 charging factor."
Limitations
- The dossier does not attribute a mechanism to the desulfation effect.
