Flash sintering is a field-assisted sintering technique in which an electric field and current densify ceramic powders, related in principle to Joule Heating. The source archive flash Joule heating dossier lists it among the materials-processing applications in its patent section.

The dossier provides no densification curves or independent verification for these entries; US2023278932 gives only a method description, and the review excerpt notes that Joule-heating-based sintering of alumina ceramics showed relatively poor densification due to limited sintering time.
