Dr. F. Modersohn (Dr.-Ing. Fritz Modersohn) was Hans Coler's financial backer for about ten years and a former director of Rheinmetall Borsig, a firm linked to the Hermann Goering combine. He formed Coler g.m.b.h. to develop Coler's invention.
Role in the dossier
Modersohn corroborated Coler's account in every detail during the 1946 BIOS interrogation. He claimed to have taken precautions against fraud and to have moved the working 70-watt device between rooms with all parts visible. He kept methodical files on the work since 1933.
He is named as the applicant on German patent DE680761 — Arrangement for Converting Direct Current into Alternating Current, "Anordnung zur Umwandlung von Gleichstrom in Wechselstrom," with Hans Coler as inventor, filed 1939-09-07. That patent is a conventional DC-to-AC conversion arrangement and contains no over-unity claim.
Assessment in the source
The BIOS report treats Modersohn as a corroborating witness rather than an independent technical authority. His precautions against fraud are reported as his own claims. The dossier does not record any independent verification of his account beyond the BIOS team's own tests.
