Giovanni Battista Ferlini: The Magnetic Barrier, the Magnetic Portal and the Giza Account

What this source is

This is the source archive portal page on the Italian engineer Giovanni Battista Ferlini and his claimed "magnetic barrier" — a phenomenon he reportedly observed between interacting permanent magnets and later scaled into what he described as a passage to another place and time. The page is a secondary compilation, not a primary report. It gathers three things:

  1. A link to Ferlini's book La Barriera Magnetica (The Magnetic Barrier), hosted as a PDF on the source archive and mirrored on pdfcoffee.com, plus several figures (Fig1.jpg, Fig2.jpg, Fig3.jpg, Fig6.jpg) and a diagram of the claimed portal arrangement.
  2. A long Italian forum thread on energeticambiente.it titled "La barriera magnetica — L'esperimento dell'ingegnere Ferlini," which retells the experiment and supplies an elaborate theoretical interpretation.
  3. A YouTube video by the channel leonardoanarchico ("CFbm02 - Ferlini - barriera magnetica") documenting an attempted observation of the space between two magnetic poles.

The distinction between these layers matters throughout. Ferlini's own account is the narrative of an observation and an accident; the rotating-ether, holographic-multiverse mechanism is the forum author's reconstruction, not Ferlini's stated physics. The source itself concedes that Ferlini "has in no way left clear documentation of what is described in his book."

The claimed phenomenon: a critical distance between attracting poles

The core observation is described as follows. Place two horseshoe (U-shaped) permanent magnets so that opposite poles attract. Bring them together very slowly. For most of the approach the attraction force is small, but at a certain point a further small movement produces a sudden, very strong increase in attraction. Ferlini reportedly called this boundary the critical point or critical distance.

At that boundary, he claimed, the space in the central region between the two magnets lost its transparency and deformed slightly, "as if there were a lens" there. He stated that other people, with practice, could also notice the anomaly.

The forum thread describes the same effect at the small scale: after disassembling an electric motor and extracting four permanent U-magnets from its stator, Ferlini arranged them at four angles, adjusted their mutual distances while keeping poles alternating, and found a critical distance at which attraction became abrupt. Tuning the distance so that the force sat "on the border" between weak and strong reportedly produced a blurred barrier in the center that prevented him from seeing the table below.

The scaled-up experiment

Convinced the effect was real, Ferlini reportedly ordered four very large U-shaped magnets made of mild steel, magnetized after fabrication, each weighing "several quintals" (hundreds of kilograms) and transported by truck. They were mounted on sled supports moved by worm screws so the mutual distance could be adjusted very finely — the thread notes that many turns of the worm were needed to move the magnets, which allowed precise tuning of the critical distance.

The four magnets were arranged at the four cardinal points with alternating poles. According to the account, at the optimal position:

  • The magnets vibrated violently, shaking the whole laboratory.
  • A greyish/bluish mist began to form in the area circumscribed by the poles, becoming more intense and shifting toward green as the critical position was reached.
  • A smell of ozone spread, prompting the team to equip themselves with gas masks against possible poisonous fumes.

The disappearance and the Giza account

The narrative then describes an accident. While his assistants stayed further back, Ferlini reportedly approached the barrier, leaning on one of the magnets to inspect it more closely. Because the mask limited his sight and movement, he removed it and placed it on one of the magnets. Approaching the barrier, he claims he was "catapulted" in front of the pyramids of Giza — not as they are today, but in the era when the pyramids were whole, with the quartz tip coated in metal, before "the great cataclysm that shocked the earth 12,000 years ago."

He reportedly heard himself called from afar and found himself back in the laboratory with the machine off. His assistants claimed they had seen him disappear among the magnets for some time and reappear in front of them as soon as they deactivated the portal by moving the magnets apart. The team reportedly decided to stop the experiment after noticing a sudden change in flux between two of the four magnets.

The only claimed physical trace of the episode is a gas mask. Ferlini's mask allegedly disappeared and could not be found, despite nobody having left the laboratory and all other masks still being worn. The flow variation between the two magnets was reportedly located near the position where Ferlini had placed his mask on the magnet. Months later, the mask allegedly arrived by mail from Cairo, Egypt — the finder having kindly returned it using the initials and address written on it.

The forum's theoretical overlay

The energeticambiente.it thread reframes the account as a dimensional portal — "a real phase shifting system" connecting the conventionally "physical" dimension with other dimensions of a "holographic multiverse." In this reading, the magnetic barrier is "a magnetic wall that vibrates at a specific frequency" constituting a "dimensional gash."

The proposed mechanism runs as follows:

  • A magnetic field is described as "a flow of recirculating ether in an area of space (flow that closes on itself)."
  • Interacting magnets concatenate their flux into a closed rotary flow; at the correct geometric distance this "unified rotating field" strengthens. This is why, the thread argues, the poles must alternate and why a precise critical distance exists.
  • Once the rotating field exists, a resonant frequency must be set to connect to a specific dimension or space-time point. In Ferlini's case this vibration may have been induced by the mechanical vibrations of the magnets themselves, or by Ferlini leaning on one.
  • The thread concedes this was "not a precise system" subject to many spurious vibrations, and that "a lot will have to be done experimentation."

The thread also proposes that the destination was not random: Ferlini was taken to the time of the pyramids on which all his research was based, which the author reads as evidence that "once the passage is opened the mind itself is free to choose where and in what time to move." The mask, in this telling, was worn in Egypt but "not in the same time," arriving in modern times because the flow variation moved the time variable.

On the mist, the thread argues that moving, frequency-shifting or thickening the ether makes it visible in luminescent form, with color depending on density. It links this to Schauberger's "repulsins," the Searl SEG, the Philadelphia Experiment (a ship wrapped in bluish mist turning green before disappearing) and Bermuda Triangle lore (ships entering a greyish, sometimes greenish mist). These are offered as analogies, not as evidence for Ferlini.

Finally, the thread suggests that in theory three U-shaped magnets at 120° would suffice, and that electromagnets would work as well as permanent magnets because "what matters is only the generated magnetic field and the geometric arrangement." Ferlini reportedly preferred permanent magnets because he wanted a "pure" magnetic source.

Background: pyramids and the shape effect

The thread states that Ferlini began by studying the pyramids of Giza, initially with no interest in portals. During experiments with pyramid reproductions he reportedly concluded that the "magnetic energy emitted by the pyramids" influenced variables such as shielding from cosmic rays, and that the shape effect of pyramids affects the ether through a torsional field emitted by the tip. From this he formed the idea of simulating the pyramid's energy field using permanent magnets.

This background claim is asserted, not demonstrated, in the source.

Evidence quality and internal tensions

The evidence presented is very weak, and the source itself is candid about this. The YouTube video description states plainly that the results "require further verification, since neither confirmed nor decisive denials have been received." No measurements, instrumented data, or independent replication appear anywhere in the compilation.

Several internal tensions are worth preserving rather than resolving:

  • Ozone smell vs. ozone meter. The narrative says a smell of ozone spread, yet also that an ozone meter placed near the portal "revealed no traces of ozone" and that the mist could be breathed well, "not like when you are in a gas."
  • Gas masks vs. breathable mist. The team equipped themselves with gas masks to avoid poisonous fumes, while the same account says the mist was safe to breathe.
  • Ferlini's book vs. the forum's theory. The elaborate portal/multiverse mechanism appears to be the forum author's reconstruction; the source notes Ferlini left no clear documentation of what his book describes.
  • Scale claim. The thread asserts that smaller magnets suffice for smaller areas, yet the dramatic event required magnets weighing several quintals. The scaling logic is asserted, not demonstrated.
  • No independent confirmation. The only named primary artifact is Ferlini's own book; the rest is forum retelling and a video that disclaims confirmation.

Related work and connections

Ferlini's account belongs to a family of claimed time- or space-displacement devices documented elsewhere in this wiki, including Time-Displacement Claims (Mike Marcum) and Chronovisor Claim (Time-Viewing / Retrocognition Devices) (Fr. Pellegrino Ernetti). The Ferlini Portal Claims vs. Evidence: The Book, the Forum Retelling and the Video Disclaimer page sets the Ferlini case against its own evidence base in the manner of Chronovisor Claims vs. Evidence: The Photograph, the Text and the Pseudoscience Classification.

The forum's invocation of shape and a subtle medium is adjacent to Form Emissions (Emissions Due to Shapes) (Jacques Ravatin), though the mechanisms differ. The framing of anomalous-device claims is adjacent to over-unity-claims, but Ferlini is a phase-shifting/portal claim rather than an energy claim, so the two should be linked, not merged.
